It has taken some brands generations to achieve the kind of impact that Openmedia.ca has achieved in just a few short years.
Committed to digital democracy, it campaigns to keep the internet affordable and accessible
It’s also run by some of the smartest people I know.
Which may well include you.
Because what Openmedia.ca does better than almost any other group we know is it puts its members first, seeking their counsel and input, giving them a say in our digital future.
The results are staggering.
Openmedia.ca has gone from 0-600,000 members in a few short years. Most are active, engaged supporters who care enough about the issues to take action.
And not just passive action. They have even created key elements of various campaigns, including donated viral video ad campaigns.
Lead by Openmedia.ca, StoptheMeter.ca fought against usage based billing became the largest campaign of its kind in Canadian history. More than 450,000 people signed the petition.
Openmedia has changed laws and galvanized ordinary people from across the political spectrum to stand together for digital freedom.
And they’ve done it by listening. Not imposing. Listening. And co-creating a better digital future with their supporters, not just for them.
Full disclosure, I serve on the board. But that has only given me a closer seat into the minds and capabilities of some of the finest, brightest people I have ever worked with.
They inspire me. And they are a brand story we love.
If you believe in the future of business, creativity and a whole bunch of other good stuff that requires the internet to be affordable and accessible to all, please consider making a donation to Openmedia.ca. Want to get involved? There are plenty of opportunities to help shape our digital future.
