I was asked by CTV’s Live with Kevin Newman to come on and talk about viral videos and the role they can play in fundraising.
I had written and produced a video to help Megan McNeil, 20, get her message out into the world shortly before she died.
She helped change how many in North America thought about childhood cancer, which she had battled since she was 16.
Megan’s award-winning song, The Will to Survive, touched so many, everyone from superstar journalists (Katie Couric was a fan) to billionaires to ordinary Canadians who found inspiration in her hopeful message.
Kevin is always a very thoughtful interviewer, but when technical woes prevented Megan’s mother Suzanne from joining the call, Kevin was kind enough to personally call her and apologize for the tech woes. He also told her how inspired he had been by Megan’s song.In case you have not heard Megan’s song, here it is:
