It really doesn’t get much more Canadian than this…
And given Canada’s upcoming birthday, we thought we’d join in the festivities by celebrating “The Molson Canadian Beer Fridge.”
That’s right, eh.
Magical Beer Fridge
So here’s the deal: In honor of the Great White North’s 147th birthday, Molson Canadian has built a Canadian beer fridge for Canada Day and there’s only one way to get inside – you have to sing “O Canada.”
While free beer is hardly the best motivation to show off your patriotism, it’s certainly not a bad reason to sing our national anthem.
And the beer fridge is something of a Canadian icon.
It has travelled to the Winter Olympics in Sochi as well as some 17,000 kilometres through Europe and Indonesia, tempting travelling Canadians by allowing them to open the fridge with their passports.
Canada Day has emerged as a key sales and marketing period for Molson Canadian, with an average of 12 million bottles sold in the lead-up to the holiday.
Previous marketing efforts around the holiday have included 2012’s “Canthem” and the first iteration of the Beer Fridge in 2013.
Why We Love It:
- Um, free beer
- It’s fun to see everyone singing the national anthem – and if you mess up a song line the fridge buzzes
- Again… free Beer
