We don’t just promote other people’s work. We also provide creative for other people’s projects — and sometimes we create our own too!
In fact, we have created and written for a number of Emmy-winning shows. Most recently, Scientastic, a show we created for American Public Television, won two regional Emmy Awards. One Emmy Award lives in Mike’s office and the other lives in Susan’s office.
We are also the author a new book to be published by KidsCan Press, which will come out in Fall 2019.
Often, our work is for children. We believe that to make social change, you have to inspire the children to imagine a better world — and let them teach their parents.
It works. In the 70’s, the government knew they had to change behaviours and get people to start recycling. But they couldn’t get any traction on their expensive programs. Almost as a throwaway, they gave their failed programs to school systems while they tried to figure out how to get people on board with recycling. A funny thing happened. Kids loved the program. Recycling became their mission. And they took everything they learned home — and shamed their parents into recycling.
We love to create television and books that help kids envision a world where they solve big problems. Current projects we are working on include a show that helps kids become financially literate and entrepreneurially minded and a book that helps kids understand what it’s like to be a refuge.
Our work inspires empathy, agency, and good global citizenry in our next generation of leaders.
