overview:
Science needs a makeover, at least as far as middle school girls go. So it got one, in this TV special airing on American Public Television. It’s directed by Emmy Award-winning director Leo Eaton and co-created and written by us.
problem:
When girls hit middle school, they tend to take a big step back from science. And that’s a problem. They’re cutting themselves off from more lucrative careers and the sciences themselves suffer by not having more women in the field. Planet Earth Television wanted to create a television show that would help keep girls interested in science right around the time they started to lose interest. But they weren’t sure how to create a show that would best appeal to them and who would buy it.
solution:
A plot driven script featuring comedy, music, and lots of relatable issues to teenage girls.
